William I. Nelson died peacefully at home on September 18, 2021. He was born in Binghamton, New York on February 1, 1928. Bill graduated from Alfred University with a degree in ceramic engineering. He worked for Allied Chemical and General Chemical for over 35 years. After retiring, Bill and his wife Genevieve volunteered for the American Red Cross.

Bill is survived by his wife of 58 years, Genevieve (Maestri) and children John (Cara), Jennifer (David) Sanford, Catherine (Chris Mallette) Unger and granddaughter Brooke Unger. Services will be private.
