William J. McNamara, 74, of Moravia passed away peacefully Sunday, February 21, 2016, surrounded by his loving family at the Syracuse VA Medical Center. He was born in Binghamton and has lived in the central New York area since 1971. William proudly served in the US Navy for six years. He studied artistry for many years and was a self-employed artist and sign painter.

Family was all important to him and he leaves his loving wife of 49 years, Cynthia Schrempf McNamara; his loving children, Emma (Shawn) Wilmsmeyer, Cynthia (Marc) Saben; William J, (Christine) McNamara, John F. McNamara and Michael A. McNamara; grandchildren, Trevor J. and Jack F. Wilmsmeyer, Virginia J. Saben, Logan M.,, Benjamin J, and Jordan M. McNamara and Lillian M. McNamara; a sister, Carole M. Curtis; several nieces
.
As per his wishes, there will be private services for the family only.
