Obituary: William P. "Bill" Mackey
December 25, 1941 - November 22, 2025
William P. Mackey, known lovingly as Bill, was born on December 25, 1941, in Malone, NY, the son of Thomas and Grace Mackey. Bill served in the Army from 1958-1963 as an MP, stationed in Panama. On May 15, 1965, he married the love of his life, Etta May Richards. Together they built a family defined by warmth, laughter, and steadfast devotion, raising two children, Scott (Jessica) Mackey and Theresa (Donald) Davis. He was a lifelong friend of Bill W.
Bill spent his career as a regional sales manager for Ray Murray Inc., where he worked with dedication until his retirement in 2001. Outside of work, he found joy in life's simple pleasures-playing his guitars, tending to his beloved flowers, especially his roses and peonies, and sharing meaningful moments with his family.
Bill is survived by his wife, Etta May; his children, Scott and Theresa; daughter in law Jessica; his siblings Bruce (Diane) Mackey, Paul (Diane) Mackey, and MaryLou (Charlie) Lantry; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Linda (Daniel) Bowen, Sue (Garey) Dishaw, and Ann (Pat) Falvey; his brother Larry (Betty) Mackey; his parents Grace and Thomas; and his son-in-law Donald.
