Obituary

William T. Gardiner, 83, of Baldwinsville, passed away Monday, May 16, 2011 at Loretto. He was born in Trenton, NJ and was a 1951 graduate of the United States Merchants Marine Academy at Kings Point. He was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War and retired from the military as a Lieutenant Commander. He was an electrical engineer and was President of the Power Plant Equipment Company in Syracuse. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Baldwinsville and was a past member of the Liverpool Elks Club #2348. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed coaching baseball for many years. William was pre-deceased by his first wife, Dorothy June Gardiner in 1985.

Survivors: his wife of 23 years, the former Jo DiToro Halligan; sons, Lawrence (Mary) Gardiner of Cato, Donald (Eileen) Gardiner of Syracuse and Michael Gardiner of Pasadena, MD; daughter, Susan MacKenzie and her fiancé, Robert Stamm of Baldwinsville; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; step-sons, John Halligan of Baldwinsville and Thomas Halligan of Baltimore, MD; 2 step grandchildren; 1 step great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Services: 10:00am Saturday, May 21, 2011 at St. Mary's Church, Baldwinsville. Burial, Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay. Calling hours are 4-7pm Friday, May 20, 2011 at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville.
