William "Bill" Francis Brotherton, a lifelong resident of Baldwinsville, was called home to his Lord while surrounded by his family on April 12, 2025, at the age of 82. Bill was born in 1943 to the late Francis and Bonney Brotherton and was a graduate of C. W. Baker High School.

Bill worked as a machine repairman beginning with Centro, Chrysler, General Electric and finally retiring from Anheuser Busch.

William was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Nancy Brotherton, with whom he shared 60 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they raised two daughters, Dawn Brotherton and Penny (Jeff) Sweeney, and proudly welcomed four grandchildren: Matthew and Anna Minecci, and Liam and Plant Sweeney. He is also survived by his sister, Carol (James) McMahon; and several nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his sister, Beverly Harper. Family was important to Bill above all else.

Bill was a life long member of the First United Methodist Church. He had a deep love for classic cars, particularly Corvettes for which he won hundreds of trophies and awards. Throughout his life Bill thoroughly enjoyed the companionship of his many pets. Bill stayed active boating, square dancing, and camping. His wife's adventurous spirit led him to travel to beautiful destinations such as Hawaii, Alaska, Mexico, and the Grand Canyon. He was a WWII History buff and die hard Yankees and Giants fan. Bill created countless memories that will be forever cherished by all that knew him.

Calling hours will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Baldwinsville, 17 W. Genesee St., Baldwinsville, NY 13027 on April 19, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, a lunch will be served at 1:00 with a funeral service to follow at 2:30 PM.  In lieu flowers, donations in Bill's memory may be made to The American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, or Hospice of Central New York.
