May 31, 1922 – June 25, 2005
Walter F. Birk, 83, of VanBuren died Saturday, June 25, 2005 at St. Josephs Hospital. He was born in Jersey City, NJ, was a graduate of Onondaga Valley Academy and a private trade school. Walter lived in the Syracuse area for more than 65 years. A Navy veteran of WW II, he served in the North Atlantic on convoy duty on a destroyer escort. He retired from General Electric after 37 years as a toolmaker and was a member of the 25 Year Club.
Survivors: Left to mourn the passing of this most loving husband and father are his wife of 59 years, Ida; two daughters, Delores Kline-Luchansky (Joseph) of Camillus and Judith Coon (Eric) of Lyncourt; one sister, Dorothy Strodel (Frank) of Cicero; two granddaughters, Lauren Coon of Lyncourt and Michelle Kline of Syracuse; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Harry in 1975.
Services: Calling hours for immediate family only at Falardeau Funeral Home, Baldwinsville. A Mass of Christian Burial is at 10:00am Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at St. Augustine's Church, O'Brien Road, Baldwinsville. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Warners.
