Violet "Vie" Fanella, 90, of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday September 9, 2009 at Rosewood Heights Health Center with her loving daughter at her side. She was born in Syracuse. Violet graduated from Central High school. Violet was employed for many years at Unity Mutual Insurance in Syracuse, before retiring in 1986. She enjoyed spending time swimming and boating with her husband at their camp in Sandy Pond. Violet was also an active member in the Gold Star Mothers, and a communicant of St. Augustine's Church. The family would like to thank the staff at Rosewood Heights for their loving care. She was predeceased by her parents Otto and Frances Miller, a son, Lawrence Fanella, a brother, John Miller; sisters; Dorothy Fellion, Lyn Jacob, and Stella Brennan.

Survivors: her husband of 63 years, George Fanella of Baldwinsville; her daughter, Nancy (Steve Boltwood) Fanella of Baldwinsville, a brother-in-law Joseph Fanella of Minoa, a sister-in-law Jane Bartlett of Minoa, and several nieces and nephews.

Services: Monday, September 14, 10:30am at Falardeau Funeral Home and 11:00am at St. Augustine's Church, Baldwinsville. Burial, St. Agnes Cemetery, Syracuse. Calling hours are Sunday , September 13, 2-5 pm at the funeral home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville.
