Vina Ann Crook, 80, of Baldwinsville, NY passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Upstate Hospital. Born in Johnston, NY, she taught for over 30 years as a Special Education teacher.
She started her career at Percy Hughes (now known as the Latin School) as one of the first special education classes in the Syracuse City School District. She later taught in the Baldwinsville Central School District, where she continued her esteemed career in Special Education.
After retiring from the Baldwinsville School District, she went on to support others pursuing a career in education as an adjunct and evaluator for SUNY Oswego, guiding student teachers working towards dual certification for General and Special Education.
Vina was predeceased by her husband, Frederick; who passed away in March 2023. Surviving are her children, Jay and Michelle Crook; grandchildren, Addison, Madeline, and Harper Crook.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 11, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m at the Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville with a Mass of Catholic Burial to follow at 12 p.m. at St. Mary Church, 47 Syracuse St., Baldwinsville.
Burial will be private in Riverview Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
