Hanley
March 29, 1948 – August 17, 2013
Thomas M. Hanley, 65, of Baldwinsville, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2013 at University Hospital, Syracuse. He was born in Gouverneur, and resided with his wife on Youngs Road in Star Lake for most of his life before moving to Baldwinsville in 2001. He was a 1966 graduate of Clifton Fine Central School, an Eagle Scout and in later years, a Boy Scout Leader. He was a coach for the Clifton Fine Hockey Association, past president of the Clifton Fine Arena Committee and belonged to the Star Lake Volunteer Fire Department & Rescue Squad. He was a past board member of the St. Lawrence National Bank. He retired after 30 years as the Marketing Manager for Newton Falls Paper Mill and also retired after 10 years as a Safety Officer for OCM BOCES. He belonged to the Liverpool Elks Lodge #2348 and was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Baldwinsville. In his retirement years, Tom enjoyed antiquing, visiting Civil War battlefields and traveling.
Survivors: his wife of 42 years, Mary E.; his son, Gregory (Christin) Hanley of Canastota; his daughter, Jennifer Hanley of Baldwinsville; his mother, Mona Hanley of Carthage, NY; his beloved grandson, Christopher of Canastota; five brothers, William (Dora) of Star Lake, Terry (Susan) of Saranac Lake, Lynn (Anne) of Star Lake, Paul (Diane) of Newton Falls, NY and Timothy (Toni) of Saratoga Springs; two sisters, Kathleen (Dan) Carranza of Canton, NY and Mary Ann (Jeff) Wood of Harrisville; several nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30am Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at St. Mary's Church Baldwinsville. Calling hours are 4-7pm Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville. Graveside services will be 12:00pm Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Cranberry Lake Cemetery, Cranberry Lake.
