Thomas Ford, 66, of Baldwinsville, NY died peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital Saturday . He was born on July 16, 1950 in Massena, NY the son of the late James and Rita McCormick Ford. He received a Bachelor's degree in education from SUNY Oswego and taught at McNamara Elementary in Baldwinsville. In 1980, he opened his own painting business and was a contractor until his retirement. In 2002, Tom published his own book entitled "Thoughts To Provoke Thought". He was a multiple sport athlete and remained an avid sports fan. Tom was a long time communicant of St. Augustine's Church.
Tom was predeceased by his parents and his younger brother, Robert John.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Margaret "Peggy" Ford; son Michael (Yan Sun) Ford; brother James (Debbie) Ford; sisters Mary (Doug) Rowand, Joan Bush and Jane (Bert) Calnon; brother-in-law Charlie (Kaye) Waelde; sister-in-law Roberta (Bill) Hullings; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins.
The funeral service will be held 9:30 am Wednesday, August 3 at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St, Baldwinsville, and 10 am with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Augustine's Church, 7333 O'Brien Rd, Baldwinsville. Calling hours will be 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2 at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
