Theresa A.
Gross
Aug 18, 1933 — Jan 3, 2026
Baldwinsville
Theresa Gross (Regan), 92 of Baldwinsville, passed away peacefully after a brief illness, with her daughter Bridget by her side. Theresa loved her family, friends, the Village of Baldwinsville, and St Mary's Church with her whole heart. A '51 Graduate of Baldwinsville Academy, she remained close to her classmates for a lifetime, often organizing monthly luncheons. Retiring from Seneca Federal after 24 years as a bookkeeper, she turned her full attention to her beloved community. As a willing and dedicated volunteer, her motto was "how can I help?" Volunteering led her to the Boards of Directors of multiple organizations & non-profits, often for decades as treasurer, including PEACE Inc., McHarrie's Legacy/Museum at Shacksboro Schoolhouse, and Friends of the Library. She was an active member of Altar Rosary Society, The Columiettes, and Church Women United. In 2007 her love for the Village and its history inspired her to create a program called "Remembering Baldwinsville." She invited local folks to give talks, gathering at the Museum, to share stories and memories. There are 39 of these talks and many still air today on PAC-B TV. In 2014, at 80, she encouraged others to volunteer while accepting the Baldwinsville Volunteer Center Woman of the Year Award. Stepping out her front door for a walk or car ride was a joy. She noticed the beauty of the river, her neighbors flowers or decorations, and the changing of the Seasons. She made use of the local parks, often bringing her lunch. She walked hundreds of miles at Beaver Lake Nature Center. She loved all kinds of music, attending countless events in parks or school auditoriums, venues in Syracuse and even a few large stadiums. In May she was nearly in the front row with her great grandson for the Eagles tribute band Hotel California. She was a discreet, trusted friend to many and a humble servant of her God. She loved people and people loved her. She will be missed by all. To fill her tiny little shoes, may take a Village. She is predeceased by her son Gregory (Connie), her daughter Tina Jones (Rob), her parents Mary J & James V Regan, brothers James (Jean), Walter (Vonnie) and Leo, sisters Mary LaGrow (Larry), Kathleen DeLong (Charles) and Lorraine(Jeanette). She is survived by her daughter Bridget and son-in-law Alex McDonell of Baldwinsville, granddaughter Jeanette Russell of Solvay, her very beloved twin great grandchildren Jacob and Lindsey of Baldwinsville, sister-in-law Sharon Regan of Phoenix, NY and many loving nieces and nephews.
Donations in her memory will be greatly appreciated by Baldwinsville Meals On Wheels, 76 Canton St., Baldwinsville, NY 13027
Theresa continued to give of herself by donating her body to Upstate. The study has now been completed, and we are grateful for Theresa's final gift.
Theresa's Memorial Mass will be held 10 AM Friday, September 25, 2026 at St Mary's, Baldwinsville. Refreshments to follow in The Gathering Space.
Theresa's ashes will be buried in St. Mary's Cemetery, alongside her beloved son, Gregory Gross who preceded her in death.
