Theodore C Martz, 79 of Baldwinsville, passed away unexpectedly at home on Jan. 29, 2022. Tedd, born in Seneca Falls, NY on March 19, 1942, is predeceased by his parents Harold and Vivian (Lathrop) Martz and his sister Patsy Hayward.
He graduated from Ovid Central School, Ovid, NY in 1961. Tedd worked as a Safety Security Officer for the state of NY until his retirement in 1997 after 39 years of service.
Tedd is survived by his loving and devoting wife of 59 years, Gwen (Peltz) Martz, and his children, Christine and Larry Johnston of Camillus, NY, Robert Martz of Chesapeake, VA, and Dawn VanDerWater of Baldwinsville, NY. His grandchildren, Brittany, Grey, Jaiden, Braiden and Mariah, his twin brother Thomas, of GA, and brother-in-law Earl Hayward of Lodi, NY, and Uncle Donald Lathrop of CT, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Honorary mention to Tedd's granddog Tank.
Tedd enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, bowling, fishing, hunting, while also umpiring softball for decades. What Tedd enjoyed most was handing out treats to any dog he came across.
Calling hours will be from 3-6 pm, Wednesday, Feb. 2, at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville. A funeral service will follow at 6 pm.
