Suzanne R. Bender, 83, of Baldwinsville, passed away Thursday at home. Born in Beaver Falls, PA, she was raised in Buffalo and moved to Baldwinsville in 1962. Suzanne was a receptionist for Dr. Robert Wedemeyer in Baldwinsville for many years and a longtime volunteer at Community Hospital. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing, cooking, listening to music, and traveling to see new places.

Suzanne loved spending time with her family and friends and was the "perfect hostess" of gatherings no matter how big or small.

She was predeceased by her son, Gregory in 1984 and sister, Jane Stinneford in 2012.

Surviving are her husband of 61 years, David; daughter, Rebecca (Gary) Mark of Baldwinsville; son, Andrew (Heather) Bender of Hollis, NH; sister, Mary Ann (Lawrence) Gustina of Buffalo; five grandchildren, Daniel, Trevor, Elise, Ethan, and Colin; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Friday, November 17 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville. Services will follow at noon at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
