Steven P. Hendel 56, of 11 Division Street, Baldwinsville, died Monday, June 29, 2009. Born in Brooklyn, New York on Aug. 18, 1952, son of Ted and Ruth (Finklestein) Hendel. He married Mary Heaverin on Nov. 13, 1987 in Rome, NY. Mr. Hendel graduated Nottingham High School in 1971. He had been a resident of Baldwinsville coming from Liverpool, New York. Mr. Hendel had been employed for Peter's Grocery for 30 years. For the past 7 years he worked for Morris Protective Service. Mr. Hendel is a Vietnam veteran of the U S Navy and had also served in the U S Army. He was a member of the Baldwinsville American Legion.

He is survived by his wife Mary; his son Jeffrey of Baldwinsville; a brother Robert of Potomac, MD; several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 4069 Howlett Hill Rd, Syracuse, NY 13215 (315) 484-1564.
