Shirley Ann Allen, 81, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on February 27, 2019. Shirley was a lifelong resident of Baldwinsville and the youngest of 15 children. She was always very proud to say her patriotic family was one of the rare few to display a five - starred WWII flag in their window. Later in life, Shirley enjoyed caring for and spending time with her own family, especially her five "grandbabies". She was a born again believer and loved Jesus Christ with her whole heart. Shirley was a dedicated parishioner and choir member at Plainville Christian Church for many years. One of her most comforting hymns was "Peace Like a River". Shirley is predeceased by her son Robert H.C. Allen, brothers; James, William, Benjamin, Robert, Albert, Richard, John, Norman, sisters; Irene, Mary, and Dorothy.
Surviving Shirley are her loving Husband of 62 years, Robert Allen; sons; Timothy Allen, Russell (Anne) Allen, daughter; Bonnie Allen (George Huther), sisters; Helen Race, Jeannie Shumway, and Lucretia Green, grandchildren; Kristopher and Patrick Staub, Kaitlyn (Nick) Coriazza, Phynox, Sarah and Heidi Allen.
Services will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Shirley's name to any local food bank as she advocated for the hungry among us.
