Shawn Yencha of Baldwinsville, NY a beloved son, brother, and friend passed away on July 31, 2024 at the young age of 34, in his adopted city of Charlotte, NC. He was a graduate of Baker High, a graduate of OCC, and then completed his Bachelors degree in Finance from Lemoyne College.

Shawn is the cherished son of Ron and Lynn (Herrmann) Yencha and the loving brother of Betsy Yencha. He is survived by his maternal grandmother Sylvia (Rocky dec.) Herrmann, many cousins, uncles, and aunts. He is predeceased by his parental grandparents George and Helen.

In Charlotte, Shawn worked for several major logistics companies in their transportation and Business Development areas. He also lived in Tampa, Florida for a year doing the same occupation.

He found joy and relaxation in his love and enthusiasm for Golf. He felt the same for Downhill Skiing, Fishing, Hiking, Walking or Sitting on any Beach he could find. His adventurous side for travel provided him the opportunity to see and experience many U.S. places and some favorite locations in Europe. If you asked Shawn today, he'd tell you the Beach was his #1 place to visit.

Everyone is given one special talent in life. Shawn's special talent and passion was being in his Kitchen creating any type of cuisine you would request. Just stay out of his way and don't ask what recipe he followed, because we never saw him looking at recipes and it just came from experience.

He will be remembered for his bright smile, his infectious laugh, his caring personality, and the special relationships with his family and friends. He was just a good person to his core.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 18 from 2-5 p.m. at the Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, August 19 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 47 Syracuse St., Baldwinsville.

Burial will be private.
