Sandy Compton Schurman of Baldwinsville, died Wednesday, April 23, 2003, in Crouse Hospital. She was born in Syracuse and worked as a Secretary at VanBuren Elementary School for 7 years. Sandy was the president of Harbor Heights Homeowners Association in Baldwinsville, and also a member of the Town of VanBuren Assessment Review Board. She served as treasurer of the Baldwinsville Girl's Soccer Booster Club, and was a member of the VanBuren Elementary Character Education Committee. Sandy was predeceased by her mother the former Maurine Armstrong and stepmother Lucille Compton.

Survivors: Her husband of 29 years, Jack Schurman; her father, C. James (Jim) Compton (formerly of Baldwinsville) and stepmother Jean, both of Indiantown, FL; 3 daughters; Jessica, Stacey, and Carly Schurman all of Baldwinsville; 2 sisters, Dianne Richman and Roxanne Parmele both of Baldwinsville; one brother, Doug Compton of North Little Rock, AR; her mother-in-law, Eleanor Schurman of Baldwinsville; 2 nephews, Rob Richman and Jamie Parmele both of Baldwinsville; 1 niece, Justine Parmele of Baldwinsville.

Memorial Services: 5:00pm Sunday, April 27, 2003 at Grace Episcopal Church 110 Oswego St. Baldwinsville. Calling hours will be 1-4pm Sunday at Falardeau Funeral Home Inc., 93 Downer Street Baldwinsville, NY.
