Salvatore J. Rizzo "Sal", 74 of Baldwinsville, passed away at his home on December 14, 2023, While surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Utica, NY, Sal moved to Syracuse in 1970 where he was employed by the NYS DOT, a career that spanned 37 years until his retirement in 2007. It was also in Syracuse where he met Kristen Cadwell to whom he was married in 1974.

A lifelong ball player, Sal played with many teams over the years and recently played senior softball with the World Champion Syracuse Merchants earning his spot in the NYS USSSA Softball Hall of Fame. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting and spending time at his camp on Black Lake, NY. Dadman: our hero that never met a stranger, our rock that kept our world together and our leader was loved by all, Papa: Remarkable, incredible, influential, handy, and resolute.

Surviving is his wife of 48 years, Kristen; children; Julie Rizzo of North Syracuse, Jeffrey (Tristan) Rizzo of Fort Mill, SC, Brian Rizzo of Cicero, NY; 2 sisters and 2 brothers, 8 grandchildren, nephews, nieces, many softball brothers and "A LOT" of friends.

Calling Hours will be held from 3-6 PM, Friday, December 22, 2023, at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville.
