Ruth Henderson, 87, of Baldwinsville, NY passed away Thursday, December 5th, 2019. She was born in Ridgewood, New York on March 15, 1932 to her loving parents Richard and Charlotte Mezger. She lived in Baldwinsville most of her life.

Ruth earned her teaching degree from the Oswego State Teachers College and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Baldwinsville and a long-time member of the Syracuse Area Miniature Enthusiasts Club. She was a nature lover, sharing long walks in the woods with her husband. In her younger days, Ruth enjoyed ice skating and was an avid swimmer, swimming her age in laps at the Van Buren Town Pool into her 70's.

She was proud of her German immigrant heritage and made several trips to Germany throughout her life. An avid reader, she enjoyed history and stayed abreast of current events. She was an animal lover and was particularly fond of New York State's blue bird.

Ruth is predeceased by her parents and her beloved husband of fifty years, Robert Fred Henderson. She is survived by her children, Linda (John) Jimenez, Richard (Vielca) Henderson, Robert (Rhonda) Henderson; five grandchildren, Lindsay, Fred, Ryan, Alec, and Cory; sister, Linda Wette; niece, Leslie (Joe) Manfredonia; great-nephews, Marc and Eric.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 from 4 – 6 pm, with a service to follow at 6 pm at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer Street, Baldwinsville.

Burial to be held in the spring at Kingdom Road Cemetery.
