Ruth Mulholland Colasanti, 92, of Baldwinsville, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was born in Syracuse and grew up in the Baldwinsville and Syracuse areas. Ruth was a graduate of North High School and attended Central City Business Institute in Syracuse.

She worked for several years at General Electric and the Syracuse Chamber of Commerce Convention and Visitor's Bureau, retiring in 1992. For many years she also worked as a teacher's aide for the Baldwinsville Central School District at McNamara Elementary School.

Ruth was a soloist and choir director for several churches in the Syracuse and Baldwinsville areas. She was a longtime member of Baldwinsville Community Wesleyan Church and enjoyed the fellowship of her many friends who attended there.

During her younger years, Ruth enjoyed camping with her family and traveling around the country. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and most often you could find her cheering for them at school events. She also enjoyed watching SU sports and Yankee baseball games alongside her husband.

Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Alfred; her parents, Elmer and Gertrude Mulholland; sister, Mary DeJohn; nephew, Albert DeJohn; and niece-in-law, Joette DeJohn.

She is survived by her daughters, Lorraine (Jason) Hruby of Liverpool and Erin (Jeff) Girard of Baldwinsville; five grandchildren, Chelsea (Justin) Jones of Baldwinsville, Beau (Christine Brown) Girard of Cortland, Cory (Rachel) Girard of OH, Heather (Zach Corson) Girard of Baldwinsville, and Aaron (Jennifer Dodge) Caruso of Baldwinsville; five great-grandchildren, Summer Austin, Justin Jones, Jr., Trinity Jones, Elijah Jones, and Kynzlee Girard; nephews, Robert (Ellen) DeJohn of Cicero and Brian DeJohn of Bridgeport; niece, Linda (Mark) DeLosh of DeWitt; and several great nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, February 4, from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Falardeau Funeral Home. A funeral service wil be held Monday, February 5, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
