Obituary

Russell D. ''Farmer'' Thompson, 85, of Rabbitt Lane, Phoenix, died Wednesday at home. Born in Theresa, he lived 43 years in Phoenix. He retired in 1978 as a superintendent after 40 years at Kilian Manufacturing in Syracuse. He was a communicant of St. Stephen's Church, Phoenix, and former superintendent and member of the board of directors of Chase Cemetery. His wife of 62 years, Mary C., died Feb. 13; a son, Frederick, died in 1973.

Survivors: A daughter, Claudette T. Pitts of Fulton; four sons, Richard D. of Phoenix, Douglas W. of Syracuse, Mark D. of Phoenix, Ariz., and Ronald L. of Frankfort; a brother, Donald E. of Lakeport; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

Services: 9 a.m. Monday in St. Stephen's Church. Burial, Chase Cemetery, Lysander. Calling hours, 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville.
