Robert J. Tubbert passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Bob was born on August 16, 1936 in Syracuse, NY. He grew up on Tipp Hill and had an apparent dislike for traffic signals. He enlisted in the Marine Corp when he was 17, serving with distinction in Korea. He had a long career with Niagara Mohawk and enjoyed many years of retirement.

Bob had a life-long passion for hunting and shooting sports. He spent every fall in the big woods with the Little Roaring Brook Club, and afield in CNY behind his dogs.
He was past president and a life member at Baldwinsville Rod & Gun Club, where he was known for his shotgun skills. He was a founding member of Stormbreaker Lodge, where he spent his final years afield.

Bob enjoyed a special relationship with his grandson and namesake, Robert. They spent countless hours together breaking clays and chasing birds behind their dogs.

Bob is survived by the love of his life-his wife of 61 years-Margaret, daughter Michelle (Marc) Hutcheon, grandson Robert Hutcheon, daughter Amy (Rich) Kelly, grandchildren Jenna Liess, Matt Kelly, Syd Kelly, and Shannon Kelly, sister Peg (Bill) Farrington, his "adopted" son, Greg (Tammy) Custer, brother-in-law Herb Meinking, and several nieces and nephews.

We will remember his kindness, wisdom, humor, and love of his family and friends. Special thanks to his caregivers at Syracuse Home.
