IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert G.
Sollish
November 5, 1925 – September 21, 2016
We pause this day to observe the passing of Robert George Sollish, brother, father, husband or friend a good man and Christian even when none but the Lord was watching, after a long illness.
Bob was born in the Bronx, grew in the salt sea air of Sag Harbor summers, and matured aboard a destroyer escort; he was in the English Channel when Germany surrendered and off Japan when World War II ended. Reading mail on a Philippine beach he heard of his father's new business; just news then, eventually it beckoned him to Syracuse where, at Syracuse University, he met the love of his life Lois Dunsby. Auto Gear was his life's work; golf, bowling, cribbage, sailing and travel were his diversions; Lois, his family, employees, friends and church were his devotions. He will be missed.
Survived by his wife of 67 years, Lois Dunsby Sollish; his children Jean (Paul) Marsters, George E. (Margaret) Sollish, and Robert W. (Pam) Sollish; 3 grandchildren, Frank, Matthew (Bonnie), and Alexandria Marsters; and sister, Elaine Brennan.
