Robert D. Prentice, 87, of East Sorrell Hill Road, Warners, died Monday at Syracuse Home Association in Baldwinsville. Born in Elyria, Ohio, he lived in the Syracuse area 20 years. He retired in 1976 after 14 years at the State Department of Transportation in Auburn. He was a self-employed crop farmer and had worked at Mengel Box Factory in Fulton. He was a member of Warners United Methodist Church and the Senior Citizen Golf League at Cato Golf Course.

Survivors: His wife of 61 years, the former C. Irene Sprague; a daughter, Shirley I. Prentice of Monson, Mass.; a son, Robert A. of Cicero; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Falardeau Funeral Home. Burial, Warners Cemetery. Calling hours, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville.
