Robert James Johnston, born on July 21, 1934, in Syracuse, NY, passed away on September 11, 2026, at the age of 92. He spent his life in Baldwinsville, a place he cherished deeply. Robert was known for his ability to build or repair just about anything. After working 14 years at Hudson & Mowins in Baldwinsville, he began a career as a maintenance supervisor at Bristol-Myers, retiring after 30 years.

Robert was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose family meant everything to him. He shared his life with his beloved wife Shirley Johnston for 69 years until her passing. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Alan and Richard Johnston. His family includes his daughters, Lisa (Keith) Glovins, Linda Johnston, and Kathy (Nick) Johnston-Allegretto; his brother, Jerry (Joyce) Johnston, his sister Nancy (Jimmy) Boyd; his grandchildren, Matthew, Rachel, Mariel, Michael, Brooks and Maura; and his great-granddaughter, Maeve.

An avid sports fan, Robert passionately followed the NY Yankees, Syracuse University basketball and football teams, Buffalo Bills, and the WNBA. Robert always enjoyed sharing stories about the history of Baldwinsville.

When he wasn't working or cheering on his teams, you could usually find him attending both car and boat shows.
