Richard E. Hefferon, 61, of Resseguie Drive, Van Buren, died Monday at Crouse Hospital. Born in New Hartford, he lived in the Syracuse area for 16 years. He was a graduate of New Hartford High School. He was a truck driver with Gypsum Express and formerly with J.B. Hunt Transport Inc. He was a Navy veteran, serving from 1958 to 1962.

Survivors: His companion, Tammy A. Bender of Baldwinsville; three sons, Kevin R. of Clayton, Richard K. of Utica and Theodore J. of New Hartford; six grandchildren.

Services: Private. Spring burial, Calvary Cemetery, New Hartford. Calling hours, 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville.
