Richard E. Allen, Sr., 64, of Syracuse died Friday, May 1, 2009 at Crouse Hospital. He was a native and life resident of Syracuse. Richard was a US Army Veteran of Vietnam. He retired in 1998 after 30 years with UPS. Richard was a communicant of St. Augustine's Church in Baldwinsville. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Highland Park Golf Course and former member of the Westvale Golf Course.

Survivors: his wife of 43 years the former Margaret "Peg" Kamak; two sons, Richard E. (Ann) Allen of Camillus and Michael (Megan) Allen of Syracuse; devoted "Papa" to Jacqueline, Ryan, Christian and Tate; two sisters, Patricia Fletcher of Camillus and Catherine Vajentic of Apalachin, NY; several nieces and nephews.

Services: 9:15am Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at Falardeau Funeral Home and 10:00am in St. Augustine's Church. Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lakeland. Calling hours are 4-7pm Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at the funeral home, 93 Downer St.
