Richard H. "Sarge" Coots, Sr., 64, of Baldwinsville passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at Community-General Hospital. He was born in Syracuse, was a 1961 graduate of N. Syracuse High School and has lived in Baldwinsville since 1976. He retired from the Syracuse Fire Department after 29 years where he received the Valor Award in 1974 and Hamilton White Brotherhood Award in 2002. He was a former President of the Baldwinsville Chapter of Ducks Unlimited and also worked for D. J. B. Appliance Service for many years.

He was pre-deceased by his brother, James M. in 1948 and his son Michael R. Coots in 1993.

Survivors: his wife of 44 years, C. Jeanne; a daughter, Susan E. (Jon) Price of NYC; a son, Richard H. (Lisa) Coots, Jr. of Baldwinsville; a sister Judith Geis of Central Square; a brother, Robert Coots of Cicero; 3 grandchildren, Seth Coots, Lily Coots and Ruby Price.

Services: 10:00am Saturday, November 24, 2007, at St. Augustine's Church, Baldwinsville. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Baldwinsville. Calling hours are 3:00pm – 6:00pm Friday, November 23, 2007, at St. Augustine's Church, 7333 O'Brien Rd., Baldwinsville.
