Richard A. Blake, 78, of Baldwinsville, passed away Friday, January 13, 2017 at Crouse Hospital. He was born in Syracuse on January 26, 1938 the son of the late Douglas and Mary Hutchinson Blake. He worked in construction for J.D. Taylor in Syracuse. Richard was a member of the Moyers Corners Fire Department and the Laborer Union Local 40. He was an assistant Scout Leader and enjoyed hunting and fishing and riding his motorcycle.
He was predeceased by his parents, his beloved wife Patricia Lynch Blake in 2010, and his brothers David and Ron Blake.
Survived by his children; Mark Dreher of Syracuse, Arthur (Christina) Dreher of Clay, Lisa (Matthew) Hanley of Tully, Lorrie (Timothy) Breckheimer of Phoenix, Richard A. (Roschell) Blake, Jr. of Oklahoma City and Christopher C. (Brenda) Blake of Fulton; brothers Doug and Gary (Helga) Blake; sisters Joyce (Nick) Grasso and Cheryl (Mike) Warner; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours are Tuesday, January 17 from 3-6 pm at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St, Baldwinsville. Services to follow at 6 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the American Lung Association.
