Raymond M. Vescera, 99, of Baldwinsville, passed away Thursday at St. Joseph's Hospital. Born in Syracuse, he was a life resident of the Syracuse area.

He enjoyed cooking, eating, and drinking his White Merlot. Ray was a veteran of WWII, having received two purple hearts and a bronze star for his service during the Battle of the Bulge.

He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Eleonora.

Ray is survived by his son, Michael R. (Joanne) of Syracuse; daughters, Carolann Kozlowski of Baldwinsville and Christine Condlin of Chittenango; five grandchildren, Samuel, David, Zachary, Shawn, Erin (David); 3 great-grandchildren, Landon, Julian, and Isadora.

Services will be held on Wednesday, May 14, at 11:00 a.m. in Grace Episcopal Church, 110 Oswego St., Baldwinsville.
