In Loving Memory of Raymond "Ray" Loveless and Patricia "Patti" Loveless

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved parents, Raymond "Ray" Loveless and Patricia "Patti" Loveless, whose lives were tragically cut short following a house fire over Memorial Day weekend in 2026.

Patricia passed away on May 24, 2026, and after courageously fighting severe burn injuries for nearly two weeks, Raymond passed away on June 5, 2026. Though our hearts are broken by the circumstances of their passing, we find comfort in knowing they are together again after nearly 55 years of marriage love story built on faith, devotion, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to one another.

Ray and Patti created a home where family always came first. Together they raised their children with unconditional love, strong values, and an appreciation for hard work, honesty, kindness, and faith. They taught by example, showing that the greatest measure of a person's life is found not in what they possess, but in how they treat others.

Patti was more than a wife and mother; she was the heart of our family. She had an incredible gift for making people feel loved, welcomed, and cared for. Her kindness, compassion, and listening touched everyone who knew her. To her family, she was a constant source of encouragement, wisdom, and unconditional love. She wasn't just our mother-she was our best friend.

Ray was one of the kindest and most selfless men anyone could ever hope to know. In Baldwinsville, New York, he was known by so many because he never met a stranger. Whether someone needed advice, help fixing something, or simply someone to listen to, Ray was always there. He would truly give the shirt off his back to help another person. His generosity, integrity, and work ethic left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Ray was also a teacher in the truest sense of the word. He taught through patience, hard work, and quiet example. He inspired not only his own children but countless others who looked to him for guidance and encouragement.

One of the memories that perfectly captures who Ray had come only days after his passing. While cleaning his favorite place-his workshop-I found a handmade sign I had created as a young boy for a pretend business called "Loveless and Son Small Engine Service." The sign was simple, complete with homemade "Open" and "Closed" sides, and although I knew very little about small engines at the time, Dad proudly hung it on the wall and kept it there for decades. Seeing it still hanging exactly where he placed it reminded me of something I hadn't fully appreciated until that moment: he had always believed in me. It is a memory I will treasure for the rest of my life, and I hope he knew just how much his love and encouragement meant.

Ray and Patti shared a remarkable marriage rooted in friendship, faith, and unconditional love. Through every joy and every hardship, they faced life together. Their relationship became an example for their children, grandchildren, family, and friends of what lifelong commitment truly looks like.

Although losing both, only thirteen days apart has left an unimaginable void, our family finds peace in our faith and in the promise that this is not the end. We take comfort in knowing they are reunited, likely dancing together once again, surrounded by those who welcomed them home before us-including Ray's parents, Harley and Everlyn Loveless; his brothers, Bob and Dick Loveless; his sister, Linda Bushnoe (Loveless); his beloved nephew, Ryan Cunningham; and many other cherished family members and friends.

Patti is survived by her siblings, Scott Priest and Michelle Cunningham (Priest).

Together, Ray and Patti leave behind a family who will forever cherish their memory: their children, Todd Loveless, Chad Loveless, and Wendy LaTocha; their beloved grandchildren, Gabbi, Maddie, Jillian, and Sarah; along with extended family, lifelong friends, neighbors, and countless people whose lives were enriched by their kindness and generosity.

Their legacy will live on through every lesson they taught, every act of kindness they inspired, and every life they touched. The values they instilled-faith, compassion, perseverance, generosity, and unconditional love-will continue through their children, grandchildren, and generations yet to come.

As the Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 4:7:

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

Ray and Patti truly lived those words.

While our hearts ache with their absence, we know this is not goodbye. It is simply, "Until we meet again."

Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever in our hearts.
