Raymond C. Mertens, Jr. 67, of Baldwinsville, died July 23, 2002 at his home. A life resident of the Syracuse area, he was an avid sportsman.

Surviving are his wife of 45 years, the former Jane A. Veator, two sons, Raymond M. and his wife Kimberly Mertens , Michael J. Mertens; three grandchildren, Miki E. Mertens, Raymond M. Mertens, Jr., and Brittany C. Mertens; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services are 9:30am Saturday July 27, 2002 at Falardeau Funeral Home, Baldwinsville and 10:00am at St. Augustine's Church. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Baldwinsville. Calling hours 2-4 & 7-9pm Friday July 26, 2002 at the funeral home.
