Pentti O. Turunen, 81, of Syracuse died Wednesday at Crossings Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Pentti enlisted in the US Army in 1954 and served during the Korean War, being discharged in 1956. He enlisted in the US Air Force in 1959 and retired as a Master Sergeant in 1978. He later was employed with the NYS Thruway from 1980 – 1990.

Pentti was predeceased by his brother Harry Turunen in 2005.

Survivors: A close friend Michele McEwen and many close friends at the Hearth on James.

Services: A calling hour will be Held On Monday, February 8 from 1 - 2 pm at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville with a service to follow at 2 pm. Burial in Riverview Cemetery.
