Orlando A. Houghtaling, 79, of Summerfield, FL formerly of Baldwinsville passed away peacefully on September 18th, 2014. He was born in Lyons, raised in Baldwinsville and moved to Groton in 1992. Oley was a 1953 graduate of Baker High School and served in the US Army from 1955-61. He retired as Post Master in the village of Canastota after 32 years of service starting in the Baldwinsville office. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Lady Lake, FL.

Oley was predeceased by his first wife, Mary Jean Wilcox Houghtaling in 1990.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Mary (Klamm) Payne-Houghtaling; his daughter, Carol (Andy)DeBarr; 2 sons, Peter (Debbie) Houghtaling and Mark (Kitty) Houghtaling; his step-daughter, Donna (Saul) Sheck; his stepsons, David (Claire) Payne, Jeffrey (Denise) Payne and Christopher (Roy McCarthy) Payne and 13 grandchildren.

Services: 10:30 am Friday, September 26, 2014, at the Falardeau Funeral Home, Baldwinsville and 11:00 am at St. Mary's Church. Burial in Riverview Cemetery, Baldwinsville. Calling hours are 4-7pm Thursday, September 25, 2014, at the funeral home, 93 Downer Street.
