Nellie Mary Gero Benoit, 88, of Baldwinsville passed away Thursday, January 29, 2009, at Pontiac Nursing Home. She was born in Duane, NY and had worked for the Baldwinsville School District for 10 years before retiring. Nellie was an avid gardener of flowers and vegetables and enjoyed many hours of rug hooking. She was a lover of all animals and enjoyed spending time with her loving family. Nellie enjoyed being among small children who made her eyes open wide with a big smile.

Nellie was predeceased by her brother Albert and sister Florence.

Survivors: her husband of 63 years, George Howard Benoit; two sons, Reid (Donna) Benoit of Boston and Philip G. (June) Benoit of Oswego; a sister, Katherine (Francis) Mallote of CT; two brothers, Raymond (Renee) Gero of Duane and Walter Gero; 7 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services: 4pm Sunday, February 1, 2009, at Falardeau Funeral Home, Inc., 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville. Calling hours are 2 to 4p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, prior to the service. Burial will be in the spring.
