Nancy M. Tyson 87, widow of Harry A. Tyson passed away Tuesday November 21, 2006 at the Syracuse Home in Baldwinsville, NY. Born May 5, 1919 in Pittston, Pa. she was the daughter of the late David Anthony and Mary Manley Anthony. Nancy was a graduate of Sayre High School Class of 1936. On August 14, 1940 she married Harry A. Tyson at the Church of the Epiphany in Sayre. She was preceded in death by her husband on April 7, 1989. Nancy served as secretary for the Sayre Area Elementary Schools for many years until her retirement. She was a member of the Church of the Epiphany in Sayre. Nancy was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her children, Mary Ann Tyson Hopkins and her husband Jack Hopkins of Hickory, NC, Ruth Sabatini and her husband Arthur of Syracuse, NY, Jim Tyson of Oakdale, CA, William Tyson and his wife Patricia Tyson of Douglasville, GA, Jean Tyson and Alan Schwartzman of The Bronx, NY, Elizabeth Parke and her husband William Parke of Rutherfordton, NC; 13 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren; her brother, James Anthony of Norfolk, VA, her sister Alice Anthony Pascucci of Texas; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her step mother, Rose Comer Anthony, a brother, David Anthony, a sister, Rosemary Anthony Moreau and her daughter-in-law, LaVerne Tyson.

The family will receive friends Sunday, November 26, 2006 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Alteri-Bowen Funeral Home 314 Desmond St. Sayre, Pa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday November 27, 2006 at 9:30 a.m. at the Church of the Epiphany, South Elmer Ave., Sayre, Pa. Interment will be in the Epiphany Cemetery, Sayre, Pa.
