Nancy Elizabeth Runyans, 81, of Baldwinsville, NY, passed away at her home on January 25, 2026.
She was born in Lancaster, PA, and spent her childhood in Oregon, New Mexico, Wisconsin, and Virginia. Nancy graduated from Blacksburg High School in Virginia and went on to earn a degree in mathematics from The College of William and Mary.
After college, Nancy's career took her many places. She worked as a civilian coder for the Office of Naval Intelligence in Hawaii, taught high school math in Virginia, and spent nearly 30 years as a software engineer, retiring from Lockheed Martin in Syracuse.
Nancy found joy in quilting, gardening, reading, traveling, and cheering on Syracuse football and basketball. She was also a devoted member of The First Presbyterian Church of Baldwinsville, where she was active for more than 35 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Michael S. Runyans, on June 21, 2017, and by her brother, AJ Walrath. She is survived by her son, Matthew Runyans of High Point, NC, and her brother, Richard Walrath.
A memorial service will be held at The First Presbyterian Church of Baldwinsville on Monday, February 2nd at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Baldwinsville Community Pantry or Samaritan's Purse.
