Nancy J. Steenberg Peet, 69, of Baldwinsville died Tuesday, January 17, 2006 following a courageous battle with cancer at Crouse Hospital. She was born in Syracuse, lived in Cazenovia for 16 years before moving to Baldwinsville in 1976. Nancy was a retired employee of the Baldwinsville School District. She was a communicant of St. Augustine's Church and recipient of the Sr. Pat Geary Award in 2003. An active volunteer in her church and the community, Nancy was a founding member of the Baldwinsville Branch of Tough Love International. This past year she raised over $3500 and donated it to the new Children's Hospital at SUNY Upstate. She was predeceased by two brothers, Bruce and Larry Steenberg and a son-in-law, Jeffrey Grimm.

Survivors: her husband of 49 years, Robert F. Peet; five daughters, Suzanne M. (Tom) Toole of Syracuse, Mariellen (Chuck) Thomas of Pennellville, Kathy J. Grimm of East Aurora, Karyn J. (Gary) Castor of E. Syracuse and Christy A. (Ken) Dwyer of Baldwinsville; two brothers, Donald and Robert Steenberg both of Syracuse; 10 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Services: 10:30am Saturday, January 21, 2006 at St. Augustine's Church, Baldwinsville. Private burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Calling hours are 4-7pm Friday, January 20, 2006 at St. Augustine's Church.
