Melvin L. Gay Jr., 78, of Baldwinsville, passed away Friday at Crouse Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Syracuse, he retired from the US Navy after 26 years of service. Melvin enjoyed watching football, westerns and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his siblings, George and Kathy; and his parents Melvin Sr. and Bertha Gay.

Melvin is survived by his wife, Deborah; children Michelle (Stephen), Jessica and partner, Melissa (Dean), Laurie and partner and Debbie and partner; siblings, Charles, Robert Mills, William, and Linda Nolan; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours or funeral services.
