Max Eugene Walts Jr., born on June 20, 1944, in Alexandria Bay, NY, left this world peacefully on March 20, 2025. A devoted husband to Frances Walts and a loving father to Kelly (Mike) Coomey and Corey (Sonya) Walts. Max brought joy not only to his immediate family but also to his granddaughter, Alexis (Michael) Messak, grandson, Michael (Charlee) Coomey VI, and great-grandchild, Maxwell Messak. He leaves behind a legacy of love and adventure.

Max served in the Navy from January 1964, until his discharge on April 1966. After his service, he settled in Baldwinsville, NY, where he enjoyed life to the fullest. Max had a deep passion for the outdoors; whether it was camping, shooting at the target range, or taking his children and grandchildren to the bear cave at Whiskey Hollow. He cherished every moment spent in nature. If anyone needed to find him, they likely knew to check the old Malamute in Tri County Mall or they could find him sitting peacefully on a bench at Onondaga Lake Park, soaking up the wonderful water views. On beautiful days you'd hear Max in his car pulling into a friend or families driveway blaring Cher or bag pipe music.

Always ready for an adventure, Max held close the memories created with his family, filling their lives with laughter and love. He will be celebrated and remembered fondly by all who knew him. Services are private. In his honor, donations may be made to the Upstate Cancer Center.
