Matthew Fenzl passed away at age 61 in final comfort Sunday, January 29, 2023 after
fighting respiratory failure for three weeks at the Oswego Hospital Health Center. He
was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas (Noel) in 2019. Matthew is survived by
his son, Gabriel (Oswego, NY), his parents Richard and Mary Anne Fenzl
(Baldwinsville, NY), sisters Theresa (John) Zabliski, Regina (Bruce) DuBois, and
Suzanne (Andres) Cano, and brothers Edward (Ineke), John (Susan), James (Christy),
and Joseph, and many nieces and nephews.

Matthew was a graduate of St. Mary's Academy (grade school) and Baker High School,
both of Baldwinsville. He went on to receive an Associate Degree in restaurant
management from SUNY College at Morrisville, and the BA in Hospitality Management
(Food & Beverages) at Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA. He was employed as a Denny's
Restaurant manager and later as manager for a student dining hall at SUNY Oswego.
Matthew was an avid fisherman. Springtime trout fishing in the brooks and streams of
upstate New York was his favorite.

Visitation for family and friends is scheduled from 10 AM to 11 AM Wednesday,
February 8, 2023, in St. Mary's Church, 47 Syracuse St., Baldwinsville. Holy Mass will
then be celebrated in his honor at 11 AM, with burial immediately after in St. Mary's
Cemetery, Tappan St. Family and friends are invited to a catered luncheon in St. Mary's
Community Room following the burial.
