Mary Ann Kotecki, 89, of Baldwinsville passed away Tuesday December 27, 2022 after a brief hospital stay.

She grew up in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, then moved to Washington, DC to work for the Department of the Interior where she met her husband John on a blind date. At 5' 9", her only stipulation was that "He MUST be tall!" When her children were grown she also worked for Byrne Dairy and Sears.

Mary Ann loved her family, reading, spending time with friends, and cooking. Her favorite way to keep in touch with distant family and friends was with pen and paper. As a tribute to her Polish heritage, she loved to cook several family favorites including halupki, cheese blintzes, and perogies, and poppyseed rolls. She created a warm and welcoming home, and whenever the question was "Mom, can my friend stay for dinner?", the answer was always "Of course!"

Mary Ann liked to travel with her husband John. They would spend winters on the beach in North Carolina and visit relatives throughout the year in Pennsylvania. They would also visit their sons in California, Michigan, and North Carolina.

She is survived by her three sons and their wives, John and Debbie, Jerome and Stacy, and Joseph and Openn, sisters Judy Wilson and Nancy Zefo, a brother Stanley Jasinowski, six grandchildren, James, Michael, Lindsey, Taylor, Jordan and Jake, and two great grandchildren, Max and Maya.

Mary Ann's family is grateful for the constant support of our friends in the Syracuse area. In addition, the caring staff at her assisted living facility, McHarrie Pointe, were our eyes and ears when we couldn't be there. We appreciate everything you did.

Calling Hours are 10:30 am - 12:00 PM Tuesday, July 25 at Falardeau Funeral Home, followed by a 12 pm service at the funeral home.
