Mary E. Daws, 87, of Baldwinsville passed away Thursday, October 3, 2019, at Francis House surrounded by her family. Mary was born in Dunmore, PA and lived in the Syracuse area most of her life. She was employed by Stroehmann Bakery in Syracuse for many years. Mary was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, William G. Daws, Sr., and her beloved daughter Loretta. She was a lifelong communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
Mary loved music and was always singing and playing her piano. She was a feisty, lifelong S.U. Basketball fan who was proud of her Irish heritage. Mary loved arts and crafts, shopping, and trips to the casino and the Jersey seashore. Most of all, she loved her family, babies, cookies, and a good dry Manhattan.
Surviving are her children Ellen (Jim) Crehan, William Jr. (Tammy), Suzanne (the late Joseph) Falardeau, and John (Michelle); her grandchildren Patrick (Kristina) and Connor Crehan, Alanna and Michael Daws, Emily and Jeffrey Falardeau, and David Daws; her great-granddaughter Grace and another great grandchild due in February.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to her special caregivers Cathi Falcone Jones and Dee Duger, and the staff at McHarrie Pointe and Francis House, who treated her with such dignity in her final days.
Calling hours are 1:00 – 3:00 Sunday, October 6th at the Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home 10:30 Monday, October 7th with an 11:00 Mass of Christian Burial to follow at St. Augustine's Church, 7333 O'Brien Rd., Baldwinsville. Entombment at St. Mary's Cemetery in Syracuse.
