Mary Ann Ventura Loffredo, 85, of Baldwinsville, passed away on Monday, September 7, at Loretto Nursing Home.

Mary Ann was born on January 5, 1941, in Depew, New York to Rose and James Ventura. She graduated from Depew High School in 1959 and Buffalo State Teachers College in 1963. In her junior year, Mary Ann spent a semester in Siena, Italy, studying art.

In the Fall of 1963, she was hired by the Baldwinsville School System as an art teacher, and started her teaching career at Van Buren Elementary School. Every Thursday, Mary Ann would be at Elizabeth St. School to teach art. In the afternoon, she would travel to the two room school house in Lysander to teach art.

In the fall of 1963, Mary Ann met the love of her life, Joe Loffredo! They were married on April 24, 1965 and had four children, Joe, Janine, John, and Jim, as well as six grandchildren.

After raising her four children, Mary Ann went back to work. In 1980, she became the first art teacher at St. Mary's Academy. She retired from St. Mary's School in 2001.

During this time, Mary Ann volunteered at St. Mary's Church and the Baldwinsville Community. She was a member of the Baldwinsville Female Charitable Society serving a regular weekly shift.

At St. Mary's, Mary Ann was in the Rosary Altar Society. She also participated on a committee that brought Vietnamese immigrants to the Syracuse Diocese. Mary Ann was very instrumental with the creation of the ceramic mural at St. Mary's School which was a special project with the sixth graders. Helping were Leslie and Dino Nicoletti.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 61 years, Joe, her children, Joe (Michele), Janine (Joe Mirabile), John (Jean), and Jim (Andrea), and six grandchildren, Joey Loffredo, Nick and Mike Mirabile, Johnny Loffredo, and Jack (Kelly) and Julia Loffredo.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 47 Syracuse St., Baldwinsville. Mary Ann will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
