Marshall G. Williamson, age 76, passed away suddenly of a heart attack at his home in Leesburg, FL on Monday, September 16, 2013. Marsh was born October 16, 1936 and raised in Syracuse, NY. He graduated from Eastwood H.S in 1955 where he played football and was elected to the City All-Stars. Marshall also studied and played football at Syracuse University from 1955-1958. The highlight of his football career was being on the team that played in the 1957 Cotton Bowl. Marshall and Barb raised their family in Baldwinsville, when he owned an appliance store and later worked and retired from General Electric. In Baldwinsville he was an active member of the Optimist Club, the Jaycees, the Boy Scouts and Camillus Country Club. After retirement, Marsh and Barb traveled for 9 years in a motor home finally settling in Florida in 2001. Marshall was a dedicated family man, an avid golfer and outdoorsman, and a friend to all. He will be missed dearly.
Survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara (Young); children, Marshall Williamson Jr. of Tucson, AZ, Cynthia (Tom) Creech of Clarkston, MI, Edward (Cathy) Williamson of Mexico, NY, and Michael (Wendy) Williamson of Baldwinsville; 13 grandchildren and many dear cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Eugene (St. Pierre) Saring and Richard K. Williamson; his daughter, Terry Elaine Williamson; and his brother Richard K. Williamson II.
A Celebration of Life service was held in Leesburg, FL on Friday, September 20, 2013. Interment in Riverview Cemetery, Baldwinsville at the convenience of the family. Falardeau Funeral Home, Baldwinsville has charge of local arrangements.
