Marie E. Young, 89, of Kirsch Drive, Mattydale passed away March 10, 2005 at Saint Josephs Hospital. Marie was born in Whitehall, New York, the daughter of the late John and Emma Ames. She graduated from Whitehall High School in 1933, and married E. Vernon Young. The family moved from Whitehall and settled in Baldwinsville, residing there for well over forty years. Marie was predeceased by her husband, E. Vernon, and two sons, William and James Robert.

Surviving are her six sons, Edward (Sheleigh) of Columbia, South Carolina, Reverend Francis P. Young of Mattydale, Timothy (Sandi) of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Peter (Donna) of Silver Spring, Maryland, Paul (Rosemary) of Sherburne, New York, Mark (Stephanie) of Liverpool; three daughters, Marie Zapf (Robert) of New Paltz, New York, Anne (companion Joseph Heflin) of Mattydale, and Clare Root (Stanley) of Easley, South Carolina. She is also survived by her daughter-in-laws Diane and Vaughn, 20 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 2, 2005 at 10:00am at Saint Margaret's Church in Mattydale. The family will receive guests after the Mass. Falardeau Funeral Home, Baldwinsville has charge of arrangements.
