Obituary

Marguerite "Peggy" Ann (Doris) Lathrop passed away November 15th 2024 surrounded by her family.  She was born on July 26 1937 in Syracuse, to the late Thomas F. Doris and Marguerite A. (Tobin) Doris

She graduated from C.W. Baker High School in 1955. Soon after she met and married the love of her life Mack and he entered the United States Air Force, they moved to Homestead, Air Force Base, Florida. They returned to Baldwinsville in 1961 and moved into her family home where she lived until this year.

She was a life long volunteer: Baldwinsville Jaycees, Brownie and Girl Scout Leader,
4H leader, driver for Baldwinsville Meals on Wheels and Baldwinsville Express for many years. In addition, she performed office work for Camillus Meals on Wheels, volunteered at St. Mary's Church in Baldwinsville and at Syracuse Home for 16 years.

She Retired from M&T Bank in 1998 after 25 years.

She loved to travel throughout the country with her family. Many trips with Mack on his Honda Goldwing motorcycle as well as multiple trips to Europe, Ireland, Germany, Holland, Switzerland, Austria, France, Hawaii, and Spain.
She was a avid Yankees fan, visiting many baseball stadiums across the country to see them play. Her claim to fame was meeting Joe DiMaggio at Yankee Stadium when she was 9 years old.
She was also an avid book reader and would read 5 or 6 books a week.
She loved her yard and her gardens. She would always be seen walking around her house checking on her gardens.

She had many cats throughout her life and was an avid birdwatcher / nature lover. In addition, she was an adventurous gal having zip lined over Niagara Falls on her 80th birthday.

Peggy is predeceased by her beloved husband Mack F. Lathrop of 39 years and her brother Thomas "Tim" J. Doris. She is survived by her children, Valerie (Ed) Gorman, Mack "Tom"(Denice) Lathrop, David (Robin Steika) Lathrop; and sister-in-law Sandra Doris

She loved her family more than anything. She will forever be in our hearts!

Calling hours will be held from 4-7 PM, Wednesday, November 20, at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St, Baldwinsville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, 11 AM, at St. Mary's Church, Baldwinsville, with burial to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Baldwinsville Library, The humane Society of NY, or Baldwinsville Meals on Wheels.
