Margaret Sears, 88, passed away on August 20, 2024, in Greeley, Colorado. Margaret was born on December 3, 1935, in Lysander, NY, to Henry and Bertha Meddley. She graduated from C.W. Baker High School in 1954 which was the first class to graduate from the then brand-new high school. After graduation she married her first husband, Joseph Strail. Together they had four children. Christine who passed away at the age of two years followed by Kathy, Karen, and Francis. In 2005 Margaret married Richard Sears. Together they lived in Syracuse, NY, until Richards passing in 2017. Following Richards death Margaret moved to Colorado with her daughter, Kathy.

She loved to cook, bake, garden, and sew. The past few years Margaret really enjoyed baking sour dough bread. She would spend hours watching YouTube video's on the art of sour dough bread making and trying the different techniques, which her grandchildren happily obliged to be taste testers.

Margaret is survived by daughters, Kathy Budd, Karen Ilacqua, and son Francis Strail; sister, Muriel "Jane" Strail; grandchildren, Amy Boyd, Jeffrey Boyd, James "Jim" Budd, Kevin Ilacqua, and Kaylene Ilacqua; great-grandsons, Cohen, Liam, and LaRue.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Sears; her first husband Joseph Strail; parents, Henry and Bertha Meddley; daughter, Christine Strail; brothers, Henry and Francis "Bud" Meddley; and grandson, Bernard "BJ" Ilacqua.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 29, from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 30, at 10:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery, Warner's.

Memorial donations can be made in Margaret's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital
