Marco S. Grosso, 22, of Gainesville, FL, passed away Monday, November 7, 2011. He was born in Syracuse and was a graduate of Phoenix High School, where he was a member of both the wrestling and football teams. Marco was a US Marine Corps veteran of the Afghanistan War. He served two tours and received the Purple Heart. He was a member of the American Legion, the Gainesville VFW Post 2811 and worked security for Brinks in Gainesville. He was pre-deceased by his grandfathers, Leon F. Grosso in 1997 and Wayne A. Reed in 2008.

Survivors: his mother, Kathleen J. Hawker (Robert Glumpe) of Phoenix and father Leon R. Grosso (Tracy Baldwin) of Syracuse; brother, Rocco (Jennifer) of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Kayla Grosso of Syracuse; maternal grandmother, Sheila Reed of Baldwinsville; paternal grandmother, Elaine (Doug) Kemme of Jamesville; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services are 10:30am Friday, November 18, 2011 at Blessed Sacrament Church, 3127 James St., Syracuse. Burial, St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt. Calling hours are 4-7pm Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville.
