Louise Edith (Lasher) Harkins, 90, of Baldwinsville, NY, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018, at the Iroquois Nursing Home, Jamesville, NY.

Born on January 16, 1928 in Syracuse, NY she was the daughter of Harold Lasher and
Grace Gilbert Lasher. She graduated from Baldwinsville Academy, Baldwinsville, NY, in 1945. Louise was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Baldwinsville. She attended the Powelson Business Institute in Syracuse. She was married to James Wesley Harkins, Sr. on August 28, 1948, in Baldwinsville. Louise worked in the Central Office of the Baldwinsville School District, and later for the Town of Lysander as the receiver of taxes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James, in 1990. She is survived by her five children, Carol (Bruce) Whitney, Spencerville, IN; James, Jr. (Jeri) Harkins, Mannsville, NY; Christine (Timothy) Hoyt, Napa, CA; John (Tina) Harkins, Baldwinsville; Mary (Martin) Frachioni, Rochester, NY; two brothers, Richard (Lorene) Lasher, Baldwinsville; Gerald (Anne) Lasher, Bellona, NY; eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Calling hours are 4-7 pm Wednesday, August 22, at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St, Baldwinsville. Services are 11 am Thursday, August 23, at Falardeau Funeral Home. Burial is in Riverview Cemetery.
